Work Packages

Workpackage 1: SI-traceability for spatial resolution and amount of substance measurements by Raman and surface-enhanced Raman scattering.

Develop methods for SI-traceable quantitative evaluation of Raman spectroscopic results covering

  1. traceable in-depth profiling and
  2. traceable amounts of substance measurements by Raman and surface-enhanced Raman scattering for chemical and biochemical analysis.

Workpackage 2: Tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Develop the techniques of Tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERs) to metrological level.

Workpackage 3: Multi-photon Raman spectroscopy

To focus on two Raman scattering techniques, SRS (stimulated Raman spectroscopy) and CARS (coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy), to develop the metrology needs for the two techniques.

Workpackage 4: Electromagnetic modelling of E-field distribution

To develop the theoretical and numerical means for characterisation of all the phenomena connected with local field interactions with micro and nanostructures and provide numerical support for experiments performed in WP1, WP2 and WP3.

Workpackage 5: Creating Impact

The project will ensure that methods and technologies developed are accessible by EU industries, universities and to the metrological community to facilitate uptake by pharmaceutical, nanotechnologies, biotechnologies and instrument manufacturers.
