Azienda Unità Sanitaria Locale Latina (AUSL) is located in the south of Rome, about 50 km from it. The PET Unit is currently headed by Dr Oreste Bagni, MD. In the Nuclear Medicine department every year about 120 people are treated with selective internal radiotherapy (SIRT) with 90Y resin microspheres (SIR-Spheres®, SIRTeX Medical Limited). AUSL is the hospital with the highest number of treated patients with selective internal radiotherapy. The nuclear medicine department is currently working on 90Y-PET for the assessment of microsphere biodistribution after selective internal radiotherapy with a GE Discovery ST PET/CT scanner.
Role and main tasks in the project
AUSL will participate in WP2 and WP3 providing resources for phantom studies of radionuclides and quantitative imaging with 90Y-PET.
