Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) - Germany
PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) is the German National Metrology Institute providing scientific and technical services. The department "Fundamentals of dosimetry" within the "Ionising Radiation" division will be involved in the JRP. Since its formation in 2003, this department has been strongly engaged in the development of advanced measurement techniques for ionising radiation, such as nanodosimeters, which has involved close collaboration with external partners.
Role and main tasks in the project
PTB will be involved in workpackage 3, where it will contribute by investigating the feasibility of a novel type of dosimeter that directly measures the biological effects of ionising radiation when immersed in a radionuclide solution.
